Happy National I LOVE THE LIBRARY Month!

Why do we love the Yorktown Public Library?
Let me count the ways!
What we love about the library:

A Gathering Place
Your Yorktown Public Library offers a space for everyone. The Conference Room can be reserved for meetings. The teens have a space (The Teen Room) to hang out with friends after school, teen programs to participate in and quiet spaces to study. The younger kiddos enjoy Story Time in the Program Room, the play area complete with toys and computers (the play kitchen is a big hit!) as well as an ever-expanding collection of children’s books. Learn more about the programs we offer for children of all ages here.
The Free Resources
Your Yorktown Public Library offers free computer use, free fax service and free access to a notary public. A library card is free if you live in the library’s taxing district. Visit the circulation desk for more information. The various programs we offer are also free.

New Experiences
The art programs, Story Time, the annual Summer Reading Program, the culinary classes, the gaming clubs and the other clubs offered at the library give the members of our community the opportunity to continue on the path of life-long learning and fellowship.
A Sense of Community
The library is a donation drop off location for scheduled donated item for those in need. Be sure to contact us or explore our website and social media pages to find out what donated items are currently being accepted. The bulletin board located in the library’s vestibule houses notices for available community services and other beneficial community announcements.

A Sense of Belonging
When you visit your Yorktown Public Library, you are with others who appreciate the library materials, the services and the physical space of the library. Parents beam with pride as they snap photos of their kiddos holding their new library card. Patrons enjoy visiting with the library staff members when they visit. (The feeling is mutual!) Patrons and staff love chatting about book recommendations. The kids giggle and smile as they make a bee line to the lollipops, library books in hand, explaining how much they love the library.
THE BOOKS!!!
Need I say more!?
NOTE: The lollipops at the circulation desk definitely get an honorable mention on this list-though some may say it is at the top of their list.
In honor of National I LOVE THE LIBRARY Month, this is the perfect time to discuss books and movies about libraries.
Here are a few titles to choose from at your Yorktown Public Library.
